Downtown Millburn

Enjoy Downtown Millburn

Taylor Park, a 13-acre landscaped public area located in the heart of our Downtown, is an ideal oasis in Millburn’s business district. From its beautifully landscaped rose garden to the picture perfect walking path around its fishing pond, Taylor Park is a lovely centerpiece to the area’s dynamic first-floor retail businesses and professional practices. In every season, there is something to enjoy in Taylor Park, from a stroll through autumn foliage to a springtime softball game to a summer lunch under its shade trees to a beautiful winter wonderland.

Within walking distance of the Downtown shops and offices is Paper Mill Playhouse, a nationally-known theater treasure. Established in 1938, Paper Mill attracts more than 170,000 theater-goers annually from the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area. Designated as the official State Theater of New Jersey, Paper Mill Playhouse is the cultural crown jewel of our Downtown, providing an important economic stimulus for our restaurants and retail stores.

Millburn Avenue is the home of the Clearview Millburn movie theater, which shows first-run movies in the intimate settings of five (?) small theaters. The on-the-street movie theater accessible to walkers, also offers convenient parking nearby. It’s one of the Downtown’s most popular spots.

Downtown visitors and shoppers can also take advantage of Greenwood Gardens, a 28-acre public garden located in the Short Hills section of Millburn Township. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Greenwood Gardens is significant for its beauty, history and design, encompassing extensive areas for horticultural research and display, historic buildings, agrarian areas and natural habitat for wildlife. Visitors come from the New Jersey/New York area to walk the grounds and enjoy this magnificent property.
